Curriculum
Through the phonics focused textbook series, NEW FINDING OUT, students are introduced to the English alphabet through reading, writing and fun games. All text books are accompanied with a matching homework book which reinforces what they have just learned in class. In class the teacher also uses specialized flash cards purpose built for the entire series.
With 3 books in the series, Book 1 is exclusively phonics focused, giving students the strong base to properly write read and speak English properly. By the end of Book 1, a large selection of vocabulary and enough grammar is learned that students can even read and write simple English sentences. Book 2 continues the phonics and the addition of even more vocabulary. More grammar is introduced and sentences become more and more complex, giving the students even more confidence to communicate in English. Although Book 3's focus is more on grammar and sentence structure, phonics continues to play a role and more and more vocabulary is added. Like in the previous book, in Book 4 phonics is still addressed but focus is almost completely focused on grammar and sentence structure. Further vocabulary is added giving the student a lot to draw on for more confident and natural communication. |
教室で使う教材、付随学習材料に加え、クラスでは毎回、違う議題やトピックスが与えられ、クラス内で生徒同士がコミュニケーションを取る練習ができるよう授業は構成されています。いくつかの例は(これ以外もありますが)、挨拶練習、感情表現、天気、日にちや時間(週/月/年、時計を読む)、そして学校、自宅、近隣などでよくある日常生活についてなどです。
